Water

So, yeah, ummm...my last night in Salt Lake City. Didn't really get to see anything landmark-ish, but I did get to see beautiful skies and mountains. My big brother is officially hitched now to a really sweet young lady named Oy. There were two ceremonies today, one was a traditional Thai ceremony, and the second was a traditional "Christian" ceremony. It was a nice day. Yesterday, at the cook out celebration, the families got together and mingled. I learned yet another way to say water. I figure if you wind up stranded in a foreign land and thirsty, "water" would be important to know.
That's English= water
Spanish= agua (I feel like I spelled that wrong...it's been so long since Spanish class)
French= Au (I so don't know if I did that right, so I'll switch to phonetic spellings
Russian= Voda
Amharak (Ethiopian)= Wuha Like Woo-Ha I got ya all in check
and now
Thai= Nam Pow (Pure Water)
It's all about the growing process, nah'mean?
Anyway...it's been fun. Can't wait to get back and get on the grind.

Good Mornin' Lovelies

So yeah, good mornin' ya'll. Ya boy is in another zone, literally! I made it out to Utah yesterday for my big brothers wedding. I think with all the family coming out for him, we may have inreased the black population out here by a percentage point. I'm thinking I'm going to go outside and see someone sittin' in a low low playing Low Rider by War. It's that real. Jokes.
On the real, I'm hoping I get a chance to see some things (scenery) before I go back to the metro. Right now, though. Checking email and blogging while listening to my iTunes (Love Jones Soundtrack is playing right now).
Otherwise, I'm feeling good (and blessed). I have some new financial solutions I plan on rolling out that are going to change your life up (for the better, of course!). So I'm excited to talk to people about them.
Ya'll hold it down while a brother is on vaca (pronounced "vay-kay"). Don't want ya'll thinking I lost the ability to spell. Anyway, 'bout to go exercise. Ya'll be good to each other.
One!

500

Hey ya'll, what's good?
Well, it's been a while...in fact, it's been too long to even effectively recap what's been going on in my life, but, I'll try anyway. In a nutshell, I have been an intervention-based uncle/ insurance selling/ refinance closing/ writer's block lifting/ moving and shaking mofo. Translation: I'm doing okay in insurance but am optimistic that things will pick up soon, and the mortgage business is still slow, but that's pretty much how it is for everybody. I've been trying to help stay on top of my knucklehead nephew, seemingly to no avail. Good kid, just wants to run into that brick wall as many kids want to do at that age...I was one of them myself. Aside from that, I'm finally becoming more mobile, as I went up to NY for a couple of hours just to participate in surprising one of my best friend's on his 30th birthday. I'm not a fan of the gas prices, so if it doesn't make sense to go, I'm not wasting any dollars, ya feel me?
On another note, the CD is currently being mixed. The process is honestly discouraging, mainly because I like to go my own pace when it comes to my projects. However, this is my boy, and I'm trying to humble myself so he can be allowed to do his thing. So while he is applying his mixology to the Panorama Project, I have finally gotten to writing on one of my ideas. Not a poem, bu a book. Hot stuff. Just have to stick with it. Also, I have really been writing more songs and (rhyme) bars lately, so I'll have to start evaluating how that can fit into the big picture.
at some point I will actually develop a redesign for leethepoet.com, but I am planning to finish up the new site soon. So that has priority over this site.
Meanwhile, I'm just living life and trying to stay out of trouble. A lot of "attention" is being paid to the kid, and I'm trying to be responsible and not abuse any situations. After all, "With great power, comes great responsibility".
Oh, I've really been stepping up my iTunes collection as of late. Your boy is almost up to 8,000 songs in his iTunes library. Recent additions include Parliament, Redman & De La Soul's latest, Run DMC & New Edition compilations, Lupe, Maroon 5 and classic joints from when I was a likkle yute (Dazz Band, the Whispers, Isley Jasper Isley, Sheryll Pepsi Riley, etc.) It's getting to the point where it's hard for me to not have something. I do need to find a good compilation on the Ohio Players and the Commodores, though (willing to take suggestions here). I don't like buying hits CD's on artists unless they capture most to all of their undeniable classics.
Anyway, I thank ya'll for tuning in. For the record, now that I've finally posted my 500th entry, I do plan to write a bit more frequently. We'll see how it goes. Until then, be blessed by being a blessing (to someone else).
PS- Go see "Knocked Up" in theaters, it's HILARIOUS!
Easy!
