Can I Holly Rock with You?/ Senora Escovido es muy caliente!

AS a child of the 80's, there are many staples that are assumed when you grow up. It is not out of place to name Transformers, Thundercats, He- Man, Voltron and G.I. Joe as some of the top TV and marketing phenomena of the decade for little kids. Garbage pail kids totally kicked the ass of baseball cards. Grape Big League chewing gum was the greatest while the flavor lasted. The Toy, The Breakfast Club and Beat Street were mandatory viewing...oh, and Purple Rain. If you were a Prince fan, Under the Cherry Moon was also a good one to watch. As an adult, I saw Graffit Bridge late last year (cocaine is a hell of a drug!), and finally!, I saw Sign 'O' the Times this passed weekend. Now, the LP, Sign... is one of my favorite Prince LP's period...so when I kept seeing that Premium cable stations I hadn't subscribed to were playing it, I was slightly bummed out. But alas, I finally caught it on one of my subscrition channels. I've seen Prince live, and the dude puts on a SHOW!, but that's not what I want to talk about.
I want to talk about my renewed love for Shiela E. got damnit! WOW. Sheila looked so damn sexy in the all white outfit, man... I was a fan of hers from the days of Krush Groove; thought the glow in the dark drum sticks were the bomb. But damn. Shiela if you're watching, I'm available mami...holla at ya boy!
.........................................
Now, aside from that, I went to my God Daughter's recital, which was leaps and bounds better than last year in my humble opinion...still long as hell...but still better.
I also spent Father's Day with the men in my family on my father's side, which has become a tradition. Quite fun. We ran up a $400 plus bill at Outback and talked much trash. I disagreed with my Grandfather, my uncle Rod (who's like 2 years older than me) talked about his favorite wines, and I talked about thee waitresses phatty (amongst other things). FUN.
Watched the Pistons lose in a close game (finally), and went to sleep. Man, it was so hard getting up after that meal yesterday, man. Whoo. (sigh) Back to work.
Peace :o)
